empty locket

overturned room, trinkets you haven't touched in years
what have they seen
still chaos yet everything looks the same
except for an absent glean

crippling knot in your gut, making you feel the size of a pea
crushed under countless
sweaty sunken mattresses
praying for a good nights sleep

violated air stuffing your lungs, shortening your breath
causing you to swear
nothing to do
try not to care

empty lockets
melted memories
forgotten
now insignificant
